Parenting is a full time sport… but in an already busy day, where and when can we train both physically and mentally? We'd like to introduce you to our Strollin' Moms group! Bring the baby and join us for a fun workout focused on moms at various stages of fitness. No baby? No problem. Everyone's welcome to take part in this stroller-friendly run/walk - with or without the strollers! Gain insights from other mothers, swap stories and share laughs in a collaborative, non-judgmental environment. Most importantly, get out, get moving, get motivated, and together with your little ones, have some FUN!
Who: Anyone looking to be active while socializing with other moms, expectant moms, grandmas, and caretakers. Strollers are welcome at all workouts.
When: Training runs will be at 9:15 am on Mondays and Wednesdays from April 17 - June 21. Our program goal race is the 5K For Life on June 24.
Where: The group will meet at Colene Hoose and Rosa Parks Commons. Participants will receive a program calendar that highlights where the group will meet each week as well as weekly email reminders. All routes will be stroller friendly.
Program Cost: $65 per participant (does not include race registration fee). Participants will have the option to add a weekly strength training workout on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm with Positive Training at The Warehouse (1103 Martin Luther King Drive in Bloomington). The additional fee for this option is $5 per session.
As part of this Strollin' Moms program, participants will receive the following:
**An optional beginner 10-week training program and calendar with workouts provided. You are welcome to complete the group workout or run/walk your own distance.
**Twice a week runs with a coach and mentor-guided training sessions
**The camaraderie of others with the same goal!
**Dedicated support from coaches and mentors to answer individual questions and help motivate you on your training journey
**Group newsletters and access to coaches via email during the week
**Program technical shirt and other great swag
**A gear up shopping week for participants only with special discounts for the entire family
**Facebook group for participants only and access to a training program graduates Facebook group after program completion
Note: Past training program participants that already have a FitVil account have the option to register for the program and pay with cash or check at the store. All registered participants may add and pay for the strength training option with cash or check at the store.
