Are you looking for a new challenge for 2016? How about starting a Streak - running or walking at least one mile per calendar day? Fleet Feet Sports Bloomington would love to follow your progress as you attempt a full year or even a monthly run or walking streak.
People have been "Run Streaking" for years - there are even two official organizations that keep track of records and offer membership: Streak Runners International and the United States Running Streak Association. Learn more about these groups, the rules for starting a run streak and find others who have started the challenge at www.runeveryday.com.
Join us for a free fun run/walk from the store at 12 noon on January 1, 2016. If you are interested in continuing the streak, add your name to our Google Spreadsheet and log your daily miles. Participants must run or walk at least one mile per calendar day. The "mile" must be a specific effort to work out and not just a distance assumption based on a lot of walking around at Disney World, for example. Run / Walk Streaking is based on the honor system! We will have prizes for people who have the longest streaks in 2016 as well as those who complete monthly streaks. If you're a fair weather runner, start your streak in May or June. Participants can join the fun all year long and just for a month (or more) at a time.
